Using Vector Images (2)

Imported .emf files, like .png images, can have a transparent background. Here I placed an autoshape under the logo showing it has no background:

When an .emf is imported it looks like any other imported graphic, with a single bounding box which can be resized or rotated:

A GREAT option with vector images is the ability to ungroup them to break into multiple parts (note: this is not a good thing if the image has any gradient fills). Select the image and ungroup. You will receive this dialog box to confirm this is really what you want to do (you do):

You then need to ungroup a SECOND TIME. Then your image looks like this:

When ungrouping you end up with an invisible shape the size of the image - select and delete it:

No we have lots of elements to work with!

I work with PowerPoint on a daily basis and I am very honored to be a Microsoft PowerPoint MVP. ThePowerPointBlog focuses on PowerPoint and multimedia development, all of which is hopefully helpful, fun, and at times entertaining. Enjoy!
